Marc Jeffreys

Marc Jeffreys was born in Germany, not far from Transylvania. He immigrated to the United States when he was three and eventually became a naturalized citizen. But he never forgot his roots or his loving Great Uncle Vlad Tepes, a prince from Walachia, a region south of Transylvania. His first acting experience was in the fifth grade school talent contest, where he played a gangster. He won first place and his name and picture were published in the local newspaper. Gaining the attention of many female peers, it also launched his acting career, which continued through college. As a result of a summer job in 1986, Marc established a sprinkler company called "Waterboy" and also a side business of recycling cardboard. After establishing a successful business, his passion and drive for acting reemerged. Realizing that any successful profession requires training, he enrolled in ongoing acting classes in 1994. Marc landed supporting and lead roles in many independent films. On these projects, he gained experience behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Hearing about the Misty Dawn project piqued an unquenchable interest in Marc which he was instinctively drawn to. In the audition for Barabas he was a natural, drawing on his fond memories of his Great Uncle Vlad. He currently resides in Dallas with his wife and children, where he continues to act, write, produce, and recycle cardboard.

Marc is represented by Linda McAlister Talent. For more information about Marc and to see his resume and demo reel, visit his web page at www.marcjeffreys.com

Count Barrabas

Count Barabas is a 200-year-old vampire descended from the Childress family who was awakened from the Childress family graveyard when an oil gusher overturned his coffin. He claims to be the cousin of Potter and Ricky Childress, and wants to move back to Misty Dawn and live in the old Childress house, which was long ago converted to a barn. He has turned Miss Del Rio into an unwitting zombie-like slave, and is now after Sunny. He has killed several young women in the area, including Chief of Police Hutchinson's daughter.

Potter Childress

Potter Childress is president of Childress Oil, and tries to bed every attractive female he comes across, including Sunny Vale (before he notices the sparks flying between her and his brother Ricky). He had never heard of Barabas before he arrived in Misty Dawn, and is suspicious when noticing that he only comes around at night. Potter is aggressively trying to put together a merger for Childress Oil that will make him the richest oil baron in the area.

Terry Yates

Terry Yates began his showbiz career back in the mid-80s, playing guitar and singing in local bands. In 1987 he began using his musical talent in a standup act, performing song parodies and original comedy songs in between jokes. That same year, he joined a sketch comedy group at the Comedy Corner in Dallas. A few months later, he and a handful of the other performers split off to form their own group called The Network Comedy Glitch. When the group disbanded, he focused entirely on his standup act and took it on the road for 12 years. He has since settled down and now divides his time performing various characters in Keith & Margo's Murder Mysteries of Texas and teaching defensive driving at Comedy Guys Defensive Driving, where he met and struck up a partnership with David Moore. He got the idea for Misty Dawn in 2002 and started writing the scripts, not really knowing if anything would come of it. His famous guitar is now housed at the Smithsonian (not THE Smithsonian, America's national educational facility, with 19 museums, 9 research centers, and over 140 affiliate museums around the world, but Uncle Jeb Smith's Sonian museum in Deer Park.
Robin Read

Robin Read (left) started the role of Frisco in our first two episodes. Her film work includes lead roles in Breathe; Long on Shorts; and Dr. Muffins, and supporting roles in Millionaire's Club; Slap Her, She's French; and Pendulum. Besides Misty Dawn, her television appearances include commercials for Arby's and Chuck E. Cheese, and supporting roles in Stingray - The Series and Walker, Texas Ranger. She is also an accomplished stage actress, having played the lead in Devil's Rope; Light Up the Sky!; and How to Succeed in Business. She met our executive producer David Moore while playing various characters in Keith & Margo's Murder Mysteries, where he asked if she would like to play the character of Frisco Childress.

Multi-talented actress Virginia Dunlap-Celentano (right) has entertained audiences for two decades from St. Louis to New York to Texas. She took over the role of Frisco after Robin left to work on other projects. Virginia couldn't wait to go to New York City right out of high school and attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts where she received her Associates of Occupational Studies. A few years later, she and her husband (who is a chef) went to work and live in France. After returning to the U.S., Virginia helped co-create her most prized projects... her sons! While raising two young active boys, she has found time to place 17th in her age group in the 2006 Gulfman Triathlon and is currently training for a half marathon. According to Virginia, "After running around chasing two kids and having a career that can keep me very busy... well, doing a triathlon is a breeze!"

Frisco ChildressFrisco Childress

Frisco Childress is the matriarch of the Childress family, and becomes concerned when she recognizes the name Barabas Childress as an ancestor that has been dead for 160 years.

Decatur Childress

Decatur Childress is Potter's alcoholic wife, sarcastic and hardened by trading her self-respect for a wealthy, philandering husband. She is intrigued with and attracted to Barabas, and makes herself available to him.

Becky Williams

Becky Williams brings loads of acting and improvisational experience to her role as Decatur in Misty Dawn. Her film credits include Megan in To Love a Mexican; Detective Andrews in Good Times (a UNT short film directed by Pedro Amador); and supporting roles in Beings, Getting Even with Dad, and Dangerously Close. Her stage experience is also impressive, with roles including Elaine in Judgment Seat; Elizabeth in Till Death Do Us Part; Kimberly in The Reading of the Will; Jill in Butterflies Are Free; Georgia in Short & Simple; and Annelle in Steel Magnolias. And she has done industrial work for American Airlines, Cingular, and Citibank.

Becky is represented by Linda McAlister Talent.

Kimberly Parker

In August 2003, Kimberly Parker attended acting classes at Texas Actor's Studio in Euless, Texas, where she met David Moore. He introduced her to Terry Yates and asked if she would be interested in the part of Sunny Vale. She also studied at R.E.A.C.T. in Dallas. In addition to Misty Dawn, she has made her mark in musical theatre, playing Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors; Laurie in Oklahoma!; Hope in Anything Goes; and Christine in what she calls "an abridged, watered-down version of Phantom of the Opera at my uncle's cantina in Santa Fe, New Mexico." She has also worked as an extra, "put in some face time" and voiceover work for student portfolios at the Art Institute of Dallas, and was in a Kia commercial that (unfortunately) never aired. Kimberly has also taken on the extra duties as our Production Manager.

Sunny Vale

Sunny Vale arrives in Misty Dawn to become Lil' Jake's governess, and becomes smitten with Ricky Childress. But Count Barabas has other plans for her.

Miss Del Rio

Miss Del Rio is the Childress housekeeper, turned by Barabas into a zombie-like slave, who, like Caca O'Handlin, must do his bidding. She is constantly thwarting Potter's advances.

Sasha Truman-McGonnell

This is Sasha Truman-McGonnell's television premiere. Sasha's an old theatre hag that can do it all. She received her BFA from OU and her Masters from TWU, both in drama. Acting is her first passion and she is proud to have recently returned from NYC after performing The Long March in conjunction with the Gaiety School of Acting. This is the same production that she was pleased to have performed in Dublin, Ireland. She has found that she has a love for stage movement and combat choreography. She studied martial arts for years and just loves rolling around on the floor. As completion for her Masters thesis project, she directed For Colored Girl... at TWU and has directed several other productions while teaching middle school and high school. She also has a flair for design and enjoys spending almost every waking moment with her two beautiful children Zoë and Sage. She is thrilled to be working with her gorgeous husband Bill, who is our cameraman and editor. She would like to thank Terry and David for giving her this wonderful experience. And on top of that, Sasha is also our makeup artist. Lots of love to all the Misty Dawn fans out there!

Nate Rubin

Caca O'Handlin

Caca O'Handlin is the unwitting henchman of Count Barabas, doing his bidding even while disagreeing with his every move.

Nancy Childress

Nancy Childress is Potter's younger sister, who has a peculiar fondness for the nightlife. She has taken a shine to Butch Bedford, son of Bud Bedford, a relationship which could jeopardize some of the fine print in clause 16B Section 112 of the merger Potter is trying to coordinate.

Yvonna Lynn

Yvonna Lynn is definitely not the part she plays in Misty Dawn. She is a very accomplished actress who has worked with some big names in the industry, including a part in the Robert Altman film Dr. T and the Women. Her other film credits are almost too numerous to mention, but include lead parts in Almost Time; Not To Share; The Calling; La Sirene; Silver Dollar; and Sadness Will Last Forever, as well as many supporting roles. Besides Misty Dawn, her television work includes hosting World Business on The Discovery Channel; host of Tonight in Aspen on KSPN; and a lead role in Life Sometimes from the Joni Show on Daystar Television. She does voiceover work for Dragonball-Z, and if you've ever played the PC game Nocturne, the character Svetlana was modeled by yours truly. On top of it all, she speaks multiple languages: French, German, Latin, Spanish, Apache, and Korean.

Yvonna is represented by Linda McAlister Talent.

Check out her website for more information at www.yvonnalynn.com

Darla

Darla is the Childress Oil receptionist, whom Potter probably didn't hire for her secretarial skills.

  David Moore

Before partnering with Terry Yates as the executive producer of Misty Dawn, David Moore has been and continues to be busy in the Dallas/Fort Worth entertainment scene. His film and television credits include featured parts in J-Town, Love Turns To Hate, and the Mark Cuban Show. He was also a featured extra in Stingray and A Killer Within. He has performed standup comedy at clubs all around the metroplex and currently produces and teaches at Comedy Guys Defensive Driving. His commercial appearances include Ford Motor Company, The Texas Workforce Commission, and Cantoni Furniture. He was also the stage manager and actor in over 180 performances with Keith and Margo's Murder Mysteries of Texas. He is very excited about the Misty Dawn project, and has big plans for its continued development.

Kalen McCarthy

Kalen McCarthy plays Lil' Jake. He is the son of our technical director Shawn McCarthy. Kalen also works with his father at Screams Halloween Theme Park in Waxahachie. He is very creative and has proven to be invaluable as a propmaster as well.

Lil' Jake Childress

Lil' Jake Childress is the young son of Potter and Decatur. While wandering around the grounds of Childress Manor, he stumbles across a mysterious stranger in a black cape living in the barn.

Luther Drek

Luther Drek enters Misty Dawn as a mysterious stranger that turns out to be the younger brother of Satan, who, in order to take over the mantle of the Prince of Darkness, must capture the souls of every immortal creature on earth. He has but one more to go -- Barabas Childress.

Robert Fry

Robert Fry first met Terry Yates back in 1987 when they were auditioning for a sketch comedy group called the Cornerstones at the Comedy Corner in Dallas. They were both accepted and have been good friends ever since. He and Terry and some of the other performers then split off and created their own group called The Network Comedy Glitch. He performed standup comedy at clubs all around the metroplex for several years, then quit to devote his talents as a writer and performer for several Dallas cable comedy shows, including Open Season, a show that featured sketches performed live in the studio interspersed with pre-recorded bits and short films. When the pace of doing a live show became cumbersome, the format was changed to all pre-taped and edited commercial parodies and short films and the name was changed to Free Beer. One of their projects was a late-night talk show called After Midnight with Bruno Magli, in which he played the title role of Bruno, a bitter early-60s washed-up Vegas comic who is paired with a young white hip-hop artist as his sidekick. His other film work includes the lead role of Frog in the short film Finsky, in which Terry Yates also appeared. Apart from the show, he also writes parody news articles for The Spoof. Robert pestered Terry for months to write a part in Misty Dawn for him to play, and eventually resorted to blackmail. But he hopes that doesn't sour the friendship.
